I had the honor of working as one of the creative leads for ESPN’s NBA rebrand. We created a dynamic basketball arena of the future centered around a physical logo prop of “Jerry” on an XR stage.

Filming at XR Studios in Los Angeles and using Unreal Engine opened up the possibility of creating custom setups in the environment to highlight the unique design language of the rebrand. The approach of interpreting the rebrand on an XR stage and filming the custom setups added a nuanced look to the entire package.

FORTRESS | Denver Broncos

Enter “THE FORTRESS,” where the Denver Broncos players stand strong, defending their home turf against the rugged, mountainous backdrop of the Colorado Rockies.

This project from 2024 took shape over several weeks, involving detailed storyboarding, practical set builds, and a live-action shoot featuring the full team roster. By combining green screen and VFX, we delivered a cinematic experience that served as the ultimate sequel to our Emmy Award winning Open from the prior season.

Step into the future with the Boston Celtics as they push their limits in DEADLY CHALLENGES! Equipped with cutting-edge VR glasses, these players dive headfirst into a high-tech basketball video game where their skills are put to the ultimate test. Facing mind-bending, otherworldly obstacles, they sharpen their game and prepare for the ultimate showdown—where virtual mastery transforms into real-world dominance.

This campaign took home best promotion program at the 2020 Sportel Awards.

Inglewood Made | The Paul Pierce Story

This captivating documentary short reveals the untold story of Paul Pierce’s rise from the streets of Inglewood to the NBA, told through the powerful and personal perspectives of those who know him best.

As a lifelong Celtics and Pierce fan, this was an absolute dream to work on and turned into the ultimate passion project.

Against All Odds | Tom Brady Hall of Fame

A special video tribute to the GOAT, Tom Brady, for his induction into the Patriots' Hall of Fame.

"Against All Odds" compares Tom Brady's legendary career to the one-in-a-billion chance of our universe's creation. Narrated by Neil deGrass Tyson, it highlights the rare cosmic alignment that made Brady's extraordinary journey possible.

Introduced by Robert Kraft at the ceremony, the video was made for the 370 foot screen at Gillette Stadium with a resolution of an incredible 11088×1800!

Fear the Deer | Milwaukee Bucks

I had the privilege of collaborating with the Milwaukee Bucks on one of their most visually daring campaigns to date. This project unveiled their new "Statement Jersey" and introduced "Fear the Deer Saturday Nights" at Fiserv Forum.

Building on the 'Mystique' of the Bucks, the nightmare-driven concept delves into the darkness of the deep Wisconsin woods, evoking a controlled sense of fear like never before. In this cinematic, movie-trailer-inspired open, the bond between the "Fear the Deer" spirit and the team is vividly portrayed, as opponents are drawn into an unfamiliar and truly unwelcoming environment.

Emerge | Brooklyn Nets

"Nets World" emerges in this live action season-long creative campaign for the Brooklyn Nets. The seemingly scattered array of suspended basketballs represent not just the players or team, but Brooklyn and Nets fans around the world. Energized by the immersive space enveloping them, players hone their skills on the hardwood as the piece crescendos and the entire scene snaps into focus.

With one big camera move, the basketballs align to create the Nets logo. Building a practical set of 150 basketballs suspended 30' above the court gave us an incredible opportunity to capture the players in the most authentic way possible for this concept.

The Famous Group, in conjunction with DraftFCB New York, created a moving new series of emotional documentary-style online videos in support of “The Anti-Drug” program for the Office of National Drug Policy Control. This is one of those spots in the series long campaign I worked on.

We brought to our set (1) Mia motion control camera rig on a 20 foot dolly track, (2) Kira robots rigged with wireless LED lights, (6) 15' tall led panels and (60) LED light tubes. All were choreographed and programmed to work in concert with the player’s dynamic movements and personalities. The resulting open is unlike anything else you'll see on game day in the NBA.

The City of New Orleans and the Saints have weathered many adversities, yet each has stood by the other. Like warriors in battle.

Marching ahead together, as ONE. Each defines the other's identity. The SAINTS are the glue that binds the city together. Uniting them in a special bond.

"Our Patch" is a heartfelt :30 TV spot for the Utah Jazz, highlighting the 5 For The Fight jersey patch as a symbol of the fight against cancer. Through intimate shots of players honoring loved ones with names written on their palms, intercut with dynamic basketball moves, the ad emphasizes that the patch is more than branding—it’s a call to action. The spot concludes with a powerful invitation for fans to join the fight by donating, uniting the community in a cause bigger than basketball.
